Threads Private Downloader

Download media from private Threads posts you already have access to. No passwords required.

How to Download Private Threads Content

Standard download buttons cannot access private content. Follow these three steps to manually download the media using your own browser.

1

Format the Post Link

Open the Threads app or website, find the private post, and copy the link. Paste it into the first input box above.

2

Retrieve the Raw Data

Copy the generated secondary link, open it in a new tab where you are logged in, and copy all the raw text data displayed.

3

Get the Media

Paste the raw text data into the third box and tap 'Download'. The system will process the data and provide your download link.

Note: You must have permission to access the content. This tool does not bypass account privacy.

How This Private Downloader Works

Private posts can only be accessed by accounts with permission — and that's exactly how this tool works. Instead of routing through a shared server, ThrDown uses your own browser session to retrieve the content you already have access to.

Safe Processing

Handle raw data locally in your browser.

No Passwords

Your credentials never leave your device.

Direct CDN Data

Same file your browser loads directly.

Multi-Device

Works with both videos and photos.

Core Features of ThrDown Private

ThrDown Private works with the data your browser already has access to — nothing more.

When you open a private Threads post (that you’re allowed to see), your browser loads the video or image in the background. This tool simply helps you retrieve that same file in a downloadable format.

That means:

  • The quality stays original (no screenshots or compression)
  • Your login session stays on your device
  • No account details are sent anywhere

It works with both videos and images, including high-resolution uploads and multi-image posts.

Important Notes & Limitations

You must have access to the content

If you can’t view the post on Threads, the tool won’t work. It doesn’t bypass privacy settings or unlock private profiles.

It uses your active session

At one step, you’ll open a link in a browser where you’re already logged into Threads. This allows the request to go through as a normal, authorized view.

It doesn’t “hack” anything

ThrDown doesn’t access hidden data. It simply organizes the media your browser is already loading and makes it easier to save.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I download a video from a private account I do not follow?

No. This tool relies on your personal browser session having authorized access to the content. If you cannot view the post naturally, you cannot download it here.

Do I need to enter my account password?

No. This tool does not require your login credentials. All steps are performed in your own browser using safe, plain text processing.

Is it safe to paste that raw text data?

Yes, because the text contains only the structural outline of the post and does not store your passwords or session cookies. Most importantly, ThrDown processes this data locally within your browser session; no raw data is sent or stored on our servers, ensuring absolute privacy. Your credentials never leave your device during this entire three-step process.

Will the account owner know I downloaded their post?

No. Accessing media links from raw page data does not trigger any download notifications on the Threads platform. The request appears as a standard page view from your own authorized browser session. It downloads the same file your browser would load directly when viewing the post.

Why did Step 2 load a blank page or an error?

This happens if you are not actively logged into an authorized Threads account in the browser tab where you open the secondary link.

Can I use this tool on an iPhone or Android?

Yes, but copy-paste steps are easier on desktop. On mobile, ensure the secondary link opens in your mobile browser where you are logged in.

What formats are supported by the private downloader?

The tool processes whatever media is attached to the post, outputting MP4 for videos, and JPG or WEBP for photos.
