Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 30, 2026
At ThrDown, we prioritize your security and anonymity during the Threads archiving process. This policy explains how we handle technical data to ensure a high-performance experience without compromising your privacy.
1. Data Collection & Minimization
ThrDown operates under a strict data minimization policy. We do not require account registration, email addresses, or Threads login tokens to use our service. We do not store, host, or re-share any media files downloaded through our platform. All processing happens ephemerally.
Like most web services, we automatically collect limited technical data to ensure service stability. This includes your IP address (anonymized where possible), browser type, device metadata, and a timestamp of access. This information is used solely for security monitoring, preventing automated abuse (scraping), and optimizing our server performance.
2. Advertising & Cookies (Google AdSense)
ThrDown partner with third-party advertising networks, such as Google AdSense, to provide free access to our tools. These vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites on the internet.
Google's use of advertising cookies (including the DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their interests. You may opt-out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings (https://www.google.com/settings/ads) or by using 'AboutAds' (www.aboutads.info).
3. GDPR, CCPA & International Rights
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or California (USA), you have specific rights regarding your data. Since ThrDown does not maintain user profiles, we do not have 'personal files' on individual users. However, you have the right to delete technical logging if you believe it is being used unfairly.
Our legal basis for processing technical logs is 'Legitimate Interest' under GDPR Article 6(1)(f), specifically for the purposes of network security and service availability.
4. No Host Policy & Legal Compliance
ThrDown is a purely technical utility. We do not host, store, or archive any content on our servers. When you paste a link, our engine fetches the media directly from the original social media CDN and delivers it to your browser. We are fully compliant with legal requests regarding the misuse of our proxy service.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
ThrDown is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with any data, please contact us immediately so we can remove it from our temporary security logs.
6. Log Retention & Security
Technical security logs are kept for a maximum of 30 days before being automatically purged, unless required for an ongoing security investigation. We use industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption to protect all data in transit between your device and our servers.
7. Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to external sites not operated by us. We have no control over the content or privacy practices of these sites and cannot accept responsibility for their respective policies.
8. Policy Changes
We reserve the right to update this policy to reflect changes in our service or legal requirements. Use of ThrDown constitutes acceptance of the current Privacy Policy terms.
